Auth code problems. Need to keep on creating plus..

Hi,

I have SHoutcast on an XP machine and it shows it is streaming okay from 127.0.0.1:8000

In the admin page on the same machine as the DNAS I have created an Auth a few times but it doesn't 'stick'. It seems I need to recreate it.

Strangely it does show the song that is playing and the next one and gives the IP as 123.243.196.101:8000 which is correct. The web page is http://www.lonnielee.com/LLradiostation.htm

In the Dos panel it says it should be in the YP web site however it is not there as I gues it drops out.

When it says it has saved the Auth to the config file, what file is that and where is it?

I have checked all the conf files and found this is my sc_serv_simple.conf file streamauthhash_1=UljYqn5Woiisq72u7n2s

I also added the streamid=1=1

This is my Admin Summary on the XP box 127.0.0.1:8000 where the DNAS is

Stream #1 (Admin Login)
Update Authhash | Remove Authhash
Stream Listeners: 0 (0 unique)
Summary | Listeners | Song History | Stream Metadata

Thi is the admin from 123.243.196.191:8000

Server is currently up and public (no YP connection)
No authhash set which is needed for public
etc

Can you please help.

Thanks,

oz :-)

streamid=1=1 is not correct.
it should be streamid_1=1 (note the underscore)

also i've had to delete your authhash as they should _never_ be publically posted and is now deemed as compromised. you will need to remove it from your config file along with making the correction as mentioned at the start of this reply.

Hi,

I have deleted the auth code form simple.conf. Sorry but I never thought about security for it.

Now we know :-)

The streamid_1=1 was correct just wote it wrong in the post.

Should I just re create the auth now from the admin?

Thanks for the help.

Hi again,

I'm sorry to bug again..

I removed the old auth code as I said, uninstalled then reinstalled dnas, turned Winamp off, rebooted computer and started them all again.

In my Admin file there was all the info, Streaming but not on YP and no authdoe Create link.

This is link..

Server Status: Server is currently up and public (no YP connection)
No authhash set which is needed for a public listing.
Stream Status: Stream is up at 96 kbps with 0 of 32 listeners (0 unique)
Listener Peak: 0
Stream Name: Aussie Legend Lonnie Lee Radio
Content Type: audio/mpeg
Stream Genre: Misc
Stream URL: http://123.243.196.101:8000
Current Song: Track 8
Next Song: Track 9
Source: 127.0.0.1 [ kick ]

Thanks

check what the log file is indicating i.e. log entries starting with msg:[YP2] and try to resolve what it says to do.

though i don't quite follow why you 'uninstalled then reinstalled dnas' when all that was needed was to edit the config file being used - so it be you've ended up with a config file with a <enter_authhash_here> type line which would be invalid and cause the issue being seen.

from the wording of your post it doesn't sounds like you've created an authhash for the stream anyway - which is done via the server admin summary page (/admin.cgi?sid=0) and not the stream admin summary page (/admin.cgi?sid=1). http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...ash_Management clearly shows where and what on the dnas summary pages to go to and click to be able to get to the server admin summary page.

one of the values you entered was too long and that is why you're getting that. unfortunately there is a bug in the current build of the v2 DNAS which prevents it from checking all of the string lengths correctly. in generally lengths of the station name is limited to 100 chars, description to 150 chars, website and keywords to 128 chars.

assuming that actually is the config file you are loading, replace the streamauthhash line with streamid=1 - that format of the config file is incorrectly left over from when you used to have to go to shoutcast.com to get an authhash for the stream(s).
