Increasing local media buffer size?

I am looking to increase the buffer size for local media, instead of constantly reading from my hard drive I'd rather it just loads entire the song when it starts playing. I've already increase the buffer size by configuring the DirectSound Output to 20000MS but its still reading from my HDD every 3 seconds. Any other ways to modify this? or can I edit a config file to raise that value past 20000MS?

Not sure how much good this will do you.

Go to %APPDATA%/Winamp/winamp.ini and open in NotePad

Look for the line cfg_buf_ms=????
in the [out_ds] section

Close Winamp before making any changes or it probably won't stick.

The MPEG and Vorbis input plugins both have options to buffer full files, which may be more use.
