Where Do I Get It?

I was at winamp.com and hit the download button but got this message:

Secure Connection Failed

The connection to download.nullsoft.com was interrupted while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Tried a few times. I've got win10.

Can I get winamp?

p.s. interesting: I've apparently been a member on this site for at least four years. Got a message when I logged in: last visit 2014. So long ago I didn't even remember I was a member.

Just keep trying, maybe they did something serverside. Just downloaded it. Also I am apparently long-term member too, lol.

Hi.. what browser are you using to do it? I tried firefox and opera and they neither would do it. One of them said 'the authenticity of the received data could not be verified' and the other said they got an invalid response or something.

So I'm not quite sure if they refused to download on security grounds or if they couldn't download. But I didn't get it.

yep, makes me feel old - four years ago my last login four years ago but just checked my profile and I joined in 2002! 16 years ! phenomenal.

I was full on with winamp back then, I remember. Used it all day every day. But it is so long ago I can't even remember what version of windows it would have been - 3.1 ?

The next time you try and you get the error show the details and post them. Make sure the system clock of the computer you are trying to download on has the date and time set correctly including the time zone.

Picture is fuzzy, hope it says 2018 and not 2012.

Can you show the certificate details by clicking on the info button in the address bar?

Fuzzy? Wonder why. I mean I don't focus or anything, do I? Just press print screen.

Anyway, no certificate. I've attached more screenshots to what I did the other day. When I get to the show certificate bit I can press/click all I like, nothing happens.

There you are. Job's done !

I used my VPN and was able to get it rightaway. Using Switzerland.

I've had that happen a number of times before. It's like Australia is discriminated against somehow. We're a shonky little county overgoverned and over policed and I suspect we've got all kinds of internet policing going on we don't even know about.

And for some reason winamp.com is on the list of sites banned. But they don't come out and say that - they hide behind this 'certificate' thing.

I just went and got the certificate from that page - same page of course but I mean the page as accessed via switzerland.

Well neither do I really. But I do know it couldn't be got by me normally and was got immediately via my VPN.

So I invent theories. Maybe they scan sites they don't like for certificate requests and abort them somehow. So then it just looks like a failure...

'They' being, of course, just some piece of 'security' software the gummint has ordered via one of its spook entities. It's probably misbehaving, even, they don't want it to block winamp, don't even know it's doing it...

But I've got it.

That's good.

Thanks for taking an interest and trying to help.
