5.09 can't load skins

I just upgraded from 5.08 to 5.09, and tried some skins from winamp.com. But none of them work, it just switches to the Classic skin instead! I tried the most downloaded, the most recent,.. Anyone know what's up with this?

Thanks

(ps. if you need any more info, pls ask)

Have you downloaded the full version and selected Modern Skin Support? What are your system specs? Do you have any third-party plugins installed?

You may want to perform a clean install, as well.

hmm they both work for me. what browser do you use? try using firefox, mozilla, opera, netscape, or something other than IE, it has been known to corrupt skins or otherwise their extensions.

They work now! I tried it with Firefox, the difference was that I could now save the skinfile on my hd, and then chose the skin by using alt+s.. instead of IE which just saves to a temporary folder and then applies the skin automatically, and something goes wrong somehow..

Thanks for your help!

Me too when I download classic skins from winamp.com, the w of .wsz disappears . Some people will blame IE (I use MyIE) but if so why the problem doesn't appear on deviantart or any other sites ?
