Unable to save new presets in MilkDrop because of an error

Whenever I'm doing a preset mashup in milkdrop, I'll often see one that I would definitely want to hold on to. Whenever I try and save that preset, it says "ERROR: unable to save the file".
Can anybody help me out with this? Lord knows how many bad ass presets I've missed out on.

Can't see any reason for that except that maybe you don't have write access to the directory where you try to store your presets ???
