OK..so far, I have done the following:

- Downloaded the Fraunhoeffer Codec and installed in my Winamp Plug-Ins Folder on my "C" Drive

- Downloaded the Audiocatalyst MP3 Converter and installed

- Added the CD Reader plug-in to Winamp

- Tried following the directions on how to convert from CD to WAV in Tom's post from 4-28-00: http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000029.html

- Also tried following these directions for MP3 to WAV as well: http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000093.html

So far, the playback on the converted wav files has been either distorted or inaudible.

Am I doing something wrong or skipping a step here? Please advise.

Paul I double checked both set of instructions and they are correct. It seems odd that any time you create a wav file it is distorted, I suggest you uninstall Winamp then download and reinstall Winamp, this will put a fresh version of the DiskWriter plugin on your system which maybe the cause of your frustrations. After you reinstall try these directions again and hopefully the outcome will be a little better.

AudioCatalyst is all you need to make mp3 files from your CD's. Have you tried changing the Rip Method? Go into settings/general/ select the ASPI tab and try the "Dynamic synch width" setting.

It sounds to me like the problem may be with the digital audio extraction from your CD-ROM drive. What the hey, give it a try.

I've discussed with Paul by private mail, and he prefers to use ?"Juke Box"?...

My point of vue was also that there was a problem of DAE. Defenitively, I also think that Audiocatalyst IS the solution.

But everybody does his choice...
