Winamp disappeared; I can’t get it back.

I am not sure what I did. Perhaps I moved Winamp out of the Desktop window area or I click on a button, but Winamp is disappeared. It is still playing somewhere, but I can’t touch it. What is happening here

double click on winamp
push "alt+w"

or if you still have a task bar button or icon in your system tray click on that now and push alt+w. if that doesnt work click on it again and push alt+w

I'm Back?

unless it's crashed, you may have minimised it? try running winamp agent, (winampa.exe in the winamp folder) - click on it's taskbar icon it should return to where it was before...

otherwise, if just wanna stop it, then:
win 9x/me: ctrl-alt-delete and end "studio.exe" (winamp3) or "winamp.exe" (winamp2, i think)

win2k/XP: ctrl-alt-del, task manager, processes, then the same again...

I tried both, and they both failed in my case. Oh well, I just wanted to know what is going on, if I got this problem again. At this point it was easier to uninstall and install it again. That solved the problem. Thank guys the fast response.

This has happened to me before, and the way I have brought it up again was by right-clicking on the minimized window (in the task bar), and turing the mini-browser window on, this will bring up the rest of Winamp.

Err. Should this be in TechSupport?

Delete winamp.ini in the Winamp Folder. That resets Winamp back to where you first installed it. Meaning, it should return the Main Winamp window back.

Try some of these tech support classics:

RE: Winamp starts minimized/hidden:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=69679

Resize Playlist Window (winamp.ini):
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=50138
Playlist width: search (keyword = pe_width)
Playlist height: search (keyword = pe_height)

The above instructions can also apply to other windows

winamp.ini

For main window to be in top left corner of screen:
wx=0
wy=0
mw_open=1

For EQ to be open and just underneath main window:
eq_wx=7
eq_wy=116
eq_open=1

etc etc

Also, check for the presence of any dodgy 3rd-party plugins,
especially gen_nomad.dll
The Official 3rd-party Plugin Buglist

I fixed it, on Winamp3! My main window was off the screen and I couldn't figure out how to get it back, so I came here. Tried all the solutions.. then I was just randomly browsing the Winamp3 readme.txt when I came upon this paragraph:
Quote:
- If you hold down the CONTROL and ALT keys while moving a window, every window will move along with it.
So, I popped up my video window, made sure the main one was open, hit ctrl-alt, dragged the video down, and boom.

I had this problem because I recently swapped out a bunch of different video cards. For whatever reason, the main winamp window was above my 1900x1200 display. I could get the video and playlist windows to show up, but nothing else worked for the main window, except this solution.

Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank You!!! Thank you!!! It was driving me nutz!
