Snail Mail Gaming

I joined a game rental place, one of the ones that mail you a couple games at a time. I like the idea since there's really no rental places worth a crap here in this small town.
Anyone else had any luck with them?
I got my first two, Jaws:Unleashed and Family Guy.
The only thing is, they send you just the game with no handbook, so you're on your own as far as controller usage and stuff, but free return postage rules.
Jaws?
Hard to control the shark and eating humans isn't as fun as I thought it would be. The shark looks like it's wearing dentures too
Family Guy is pretty sweet so far. You start with Stewie and you can't go wrong there

I don't think I'd like it. I suck and usually take weeks if not months to beat video games. Netflix is nice because it's a guaranteed 1-2 hour movie, and you send it back. I wouldn't get my money's worth if I did the same with games.

For a second I thought you were talking about play by mail games that were all the rage back in the 80's and so on, wonder if any of them still run?

I remember that you could play Stars! via e-mail games for that "real multiplayer" experience.

I tried it once... the game just progressed to slowly to be of any real interest.

Mail rental though? Sounds like the sort of thing that could be a scam.

Nah, for 20 bucks they send you a couple games of your choosing at a time, free postage to you and back. It's all the rage ie. Gamefly and with movies ie. Netflix and Blockbuster.

There are loads of firms like that in the UK , particulary DVD flicks, I get the guys in the mailroom to fish them out when people send them back through work, copy the DVD and send it back out again, free movies for all
