Winamp associated file types have same description

In Windows Vista, all the files associated with Winamp are listed as "Winamp media file", instead of MP3 or OGG. This can be hurtful, because I often sort files by type. How can I associate files with Winamp without losing their original file type description?

Unless you do you file associations by hand, that's just how it is.

One solution I've seen for XP, maybe works in Vista too.

Rocker, that doesn't help because you still can't sort by extension.

ujay, unfortunately that doesn't work in Vista.

Point is I think, that many extensions can be grouped together under the same file Type.
Explorer sorts by Type, but there is no sort by extension in the standard install(i.e. no Ext column) .

Rocker, it seems you've never tried this so you don't understand. If you look at the picture, mp3 and ogg files are all listed as "Winamp media files" so when I sort them by type they're still grouped together.
