The old Tripex (v 1.0) Rocks! I think its much better than 2.x (stupid OpenGL).

Besides that i use Gesis (my personal favorite), G-Force, Climax, and AVS.

I love the winamp visualizers!!! first i got hooked on whitecap, then was mesmerized by g-force, but i think the most intense, especially when you are, uh, well, ah, you know, chemically enhanced, is acidspunk, the colors remind me of tie dyes.

but i think i would give g-force the top rating for reacting in synch with the music, it seems to change style almost perfectly in tune with the music.

most useful plugin?
This one

only simply and certainly not perfect, but it makes it a whole lot easier searching for a particular song when you want it.....

Try the LAVA! Winamp Plug-In. It's easily the best 3D Plugin around. It even lets you author your own 3d scenes from templates. The only caveat is you have to download the LAVA! Player and the plug-in for it to work.

I forgot to mention that they just recently hired Geiss, so you can expect even cooler stuff out of them pretty soon.

If you want a little background on LAVA! here's a kick ass interview on 3DSS: http://www.3dsoundsurge.com/interviews/LAVA/LAVA.html

To Cannon__Fodder:I see that you are moderator but you advice us to use findit2 plugin when this feature is integrate in winamp (i think from v.2.6) with short kay "J" dont talk good for you.
To others: I think that best visual plugin is AVS because you may make your own presets and after some times he dii not become borring like others because there is so many thing you can do with them.I may visit http://www.deskmod.com/?page=cat&cat...design=default to DL more presets for AVS. Also very good and very fast is Geiss his clone Acidspunk is also no so bad. About 3D vis I think that Triplex is good and faster then others.
But best plugin to me is one general plug0in called AlbumList wich display your album in one windows similar to PlayList windows and if you whant to play one album it send album directly to playlist.Go to see:http://www.geocities.com/safai_ma/

Tonic: In order to use the playlist searching feature you mentioned, you have to give focus to the Winamp window. FindIT2 will work from any window, and unlike the integrated feature it can be customized.

Check out Benadiba's Disco Water Dancer when you've got the chance. Most WinAMP reaction plugs i've seen don't really give you a tangible feeling of it really being that reactive, but this one is pretty convincing!

By the way - give the author as much feedback as you can so a new version will be produced! I can't wait for it to be updated.

I like this plug so much i've written music specifically to make it dance in the way i want (hahahaa) - the link on the banner above should take you to our MP3 site. Enjoy the plugin and send the author feedback (nuff).

Cheers,
Elie

Check out the ArKaos Visualizer! It's better than Lava. ArKaos software is used by Daft Punk, Front 242, M People, U2, David Bowie, Jean-Michel Jarre, Zucchero, The Scorpions, U2, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, Frankie Knuckles, Carl Cox and Roger Sanchez to create the visuals for their events.

There's one called "Wild Tangent Winamp Visualizer" (or something). It is the best one I saw yet (my Winamp experience is pretty short) it is 3d and it's great.

Having to agree with Winsane on his inclusion of the Innover RealAudio plugin, 'cause it lets me play real audio and video, and never have to look at real player again.
That opinion's based more on personal likes/dislikes than how good the plugin may be, but with the ability to rid real from my sight, who cares about the execution.

I use G-Force, Geiss, The Matrix Vis for my visuals, Sqrsoft Advanced Crossfader for the output, Rocksteady as the DSP. Generals that I love are of FindIt and Album List. I Recommend them all...

Winamp has a built in that does this anyway, just press 'j' and you get a search window that does something similar.

I'm not sure whether those plugins are the best in the world but here are the ones I use: Much FX, CD Reader, Enhance, Rocksteady, Weedsoft video, Nullsoft diskwriter(!), DJ Amp, Sqr Crossfading and the master of all, Geiss.
