Yeah, I heard about it early this morning. Unfortunately, these things happen. I feel badly for her family and close friends.

Will they have one of those funerals where there are like 15,000 people or a private one, does anyone know?

Unfortunately, nobody else was mentioned in this crash. One would be led to believe that she was the only person on the plane.

lets take a moment of silence for all the people who died over the last few years.........

chev, its usual that when someone famous dies, a bunch of people get sad, even though they dont know the person...

for example....Princess Diana, or Dale Earnhardt

I can only think of a couple of reasons to get especially sad when a famous person dies:
1. You're a crazed fan so of course you're sad.
2. Because of their fame, their good deeds are more well known than non famous people, so you mistakenly believe they deserve more sorrow.
3. They actually did something worth while. (I can only think of a couple of modern famous people who did worthwhile stuff.)

I believe there's no purpose to life except possibly to do something worth while, no matter how little. If you die by your own stupidity, and did nothing worthwhile, I wouldn't be sad. But if you die by someone else's stupidity or by natural causes, and could have done more worth while things had you not died. Then and only then would I be sad.

Im sad - A Poem By BeerBaron

When she died i was heart broken
She was so young, yet so outspoken
her lips so delicate
her actions so legit
Her music was that of symphony
and now she is gone, leaving many
including me, holy shit that bitch was hot
i wanted her right on my goddamn spot
i wanted her to be my lay
than i would kick the bitch out because she been fucked now, why the fuck do i want her to stay
Now she is dead and i cant bang her
All because that fucked up twin engine jet liner.

thats my poem, hope you liked it

yeah probably, there is a sympathetic side to me that mourns her, including felling bad about her demise, but if i wrote a poem expressing that, well, that just wouldnt be me, but for intentions sake

You will be missed aaliyah. Your music was great, the first 6 lines of that poem were true, as were the others, but than again i have never censored myself, why should i do it now?

I hadn't heard this. I"d heard that the death was originally blamed on a faulty harness, and that was later ruled out. As I understand it, no one knows where to place the blame. But then, I haven't kept up with the findings. I somehow have a hard time believing that he would intentionally get into a 200+ mph car without a proper helmet.

Yeah that was it. The neckbrace, sorry.

In any case, he was a hotshot — a little too much of a hotshot.

Here's what I found.

Quote:
SportsLine.com wire reports

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Dale Earnhardt died of blunt force injuries to the head, according to an autopsy completed Monday. But Dr. Thomas Parsons did not attempt to determine if a head and neck brace could have saved Earnhardt's life.

"We are not able to say" if the device worn by some drivers would have saved Earnhardt, Volusia County spokesman Dave Byron said of the Head And Neck Support (HANS) apparatus.

Only about a half-dozen drivers wore the U-shaped device in Sunday's Daytona 500. The brace keeps the head and neck from snapping forward on impact, perhaps preventing skull and neck fractures. Earnhardt and most other drivers shunned it as bulky and uncomfortable.
Apparently, they don't know if the brace would have helped, and about half the other drivers don't wear them, either.

[edit] Oops, I said that half the drivers wore them, but it was only a half dozen. There were 43 drivers. So, with only 6 out of 43 wearing them, Earnhardt was with the majority, by far.

Quote:
More from sportsline:
"Even if you restrain the head and neck in this type of injury with the forces we're talking about -- hitting a concrete barricade at 150, 170 mph -- there's still one more element you have to address," Bohannon said. "All those organs internally still move at time of impact," and that could be fatal, too.
[/edit]

Another Mr. Goodwrench/forensic scientist!

The extreme angle at which he hit the wall was a MAJOR factor. Combined with the speed and help from another car made it something no one could have walked away from, regardless of protection.

People get upset when someone famous dies because they feel as though they know this person. Similarly, most people get upset if someone they know dies, even if they were never friends. It's natural; stupid, but natural.

Are you serious? you only read 4 lines of a poem and decided to respond to it? You are the kind of person who i see getting fucked over when you sign a contract.

"your signature will grant you insurance, aswell as give us your soul" Hey sounds good to me, i love insurance.

Deep down i bet most people who read that laughed, than said to themselves thats funny, she was hot, i did want to ride her.

Sure, you might of only read 4 lines, did you? most likely you read all of it, but than you got afraid someone wouldnt like you because of your opinion? is Curi0us_George your god now? am i? lets all make opinions and have you simply follow them.

you are now my slave, go get me some coffee
