Winamp music can you burn onto a cd?

I'm not really good with technical stuff - so sorry if I appear thick! I have a song which I can play on winamp through my computer but would like to put it onto a cd so I can listen to it in my car.

Is this possible? Are there any sites with step by step instructions?

Hi Reiva,

The Pro version of Winamp (no longer available) is needed to burn mp3s quickly.

I use StarBurn (link below) even-though I have Winamp Pro. It is an accurate burner that is simple to use (has 'wizards' to guide you thru so that you don't need to learn all the steps manually).

I'm sorry, but this is not correct.

The Pro version is needed for MP3 encoding (CD ripping/Transcoder). If you burn an audio cd, it will decode and convert MP3 files as well.

I think, this is yet another request for a MP3 data disc burning feature. So a small summary.

1. You can burn standard audio cds, the source format doesn't matter as long as you have a decoder plugin installed, which supports the ML burning API. (So with the default Winamp plug-ins you can burn wav, mp3, ogg vorbis, flac etc).

2. You cannot burn MP3 data discs, nor with the free version, neither with the Pro version. That feature is part of the Winamp Wishlist.

I was referring to the speeds listed in the bottom half of the features chart (link below). But I use other apps to rip and burn, so I didn't know the chart was incorrect or that aspect has changed since v5.65.

If Reiva is talking about data cds, StarBurn can make them as well as standard audio cds. The Windows OS (since Vista, iirc) can also make data cds and Windows Media Player can make standard audio cds, so other apps are not really needed.
