LEDs

Why does every equipment manufacturer insist on smothering their kit with the brightest blue LEDs they can find.

A chap could go blind, what was wrong with a discreet orange glow.

Next big thing will be a little mechanical man waving his arms, like they have on French motorways

Yeah, my behringer mixers have both blue power lights and they annoy me when its dark. Another complaint about LEDs, why do blues cost 2x more than regular reds, yellows, and greens and none of them at radioshack run at ~3v

but the blue is sooo mesmerising
<3 blue LEDs

but yeah, at times not having blue on everything would be nice so i could fall asleep whilst watching a dvd without the blue LEDs on the speakers, pc case and the fan inside of said pc case

with the price thing, it's because blue involves more to produce it, i can't remember the full reasoning behind it since it's been a few years since my uni course. however the ease of getting things to emit light meant that red LEDs were the first ones to come out and then to the greens and then the blue ones (from what i remember though i'm sure google will have a lot more to provide on this matter )

Yeah, for some reason they cost more to make. I always bought those lighted candy type pops. I'd break them and take the leds out of them...they dont sell blue ones anymore

Some of my stereo receivers and other components have a "display off" option or dimmer that can go all the way to off if you like. They should make that option on any high-end shit (computers, etc.) to disable annoying LEDs.

Blue is the most expensive color of fireworks, and is the color of the hottest stars in the universe.
