DaimlerChrysler to run Viper CC in Formula Drift

DaimlerChrysler has intentions to run a Mopar-sponsored, all-out, drift-prepped Viper Competition Coupe in the SCCA-sanctioned Formula Drift competitions...

But that's old news...The Atlanta competition is done, and that crazy Swed Samuel Hubinette and his Viper CC won 1st place...

This is the 2nd American car entered in the State-side drift competitions normally dominated by the Japanese (Former WRC/Pikes Peak racer Rhys Millen in his Pontiac GTO were the first - info: SpeedChannel, GMInsideNews- , but he didn't make qualifications for this race)...Many of the fans first booed Millen when he first brought out the GTO during the Irwindale event, but eventually cheered for him when the judges scored Rhys for his smokey-styled drifts and lines...The same is now going for the Viper...

In short, drifting is a form of motorsport that's not really racing...It's judged by subjective judges who look for style in their drifts...Drifting is a method of breaking traction of a car mainly at the rear and controlling the sideways slide throughout a corner...
