Winamp clicking on certain events

I'm having a minor problem with the winamp DirectSound output plugin that is a bit annoying. What is happening is that whenever I click the "eject" button or other various events in other programs, it causes a single click in the audio. I know it's not the input plugin because I have tried both WAV files and FLAC files in addition to MP3s and they all cause the same exact click.

I already have the checkbox for hardware acceleration and fluid CPU usage checked, and have checked the solutions suggested in the sticky at the top of the forum. I hope there there is something I am missing to fix this problem.

System Specs:
P3 1GHz
512MB RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy2
Windows 2000 Pro
DirectX v8.1

Just to be sure:
You checked this thread?

(install latest drivers, etc.
also, update to DirectX 9)

And you tried the DirectSound output tweaks here?

Windows > Sounds... Control Panel -> Sounds tab
Windows Explorer -> Start Navigation = None.

Yes/no/maybe?
