do you mean you want to compress the wav and keep it as a wav or compress it to a mp3? I suspect the latter go here http://cdex.n3.net/ phich is porbably what you need CD ripping wav->mp3 and mp3->wav and all the bells and whistles you could possibly need til the next release.

What I am trying to do is take a music cd. I have a program I use to take it from CDA format to make it a WAV. Then I need a program that then takes the WAV and changes the format of the file and makes it smaller, small enough that when posted to a web page that it can be heard automatically. Most of the WAV files I have are too large to work on the web. A friend of mine has I3Prod he uses to to this, I cant find it anywhere! Its almost as if it doesnt exsist, but I have seen it! CAn anyone please help me!

the program you want (I3Prod) is actually a wav->mp3 encoder.

so, i couldnt find it anywhere, just a mention of it. i suggest you do what phily baby said, and use CDex

Well the only thing about using sound recorder, I can only get the player to record up to a ceertain time. Up to 90 seconds. Is there a way to make it have more time?

you arent recording, youre just opening up a wav file and saving it again.

Yeah... once you've copied the CD and you have it as WAV files, just right-click a WAV and choose "record". That'll open it in Sound Recorder. In there, click File, then Properties, then Convert Now, and then choose a format to convert it to.
