In case anybody is wondering, the Color Editor data is stored in
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\freeform\wacs\ColorEditor\data
It took me a moment to figure out where these values were kept

Will, could you add that to the Color Editor FAQ?

This is too cool, with the auto apply feature you can see the colors change. its pretty kewl.

Is there an SDK for it? I would like to see if maybe I can play with it some how...

Right click in winamp. now along side the Main Window, Playlist, Media Library and Equlizer, You Color Editor Aswell

the window is lokced in one position, the sliders for the color variations wont work, and i cant hit any of the command buttons such as export, apply etc..etc..etc..

maybe its just me...

Did you clone a color theme first ? you cannot change the default ones from the skin itself.

this from the Color Editor FAQ that Will linked to at the top of this thread:

A skin may be zipped, and so the color editor cannot 1) unzip your skin, 2) change the themes definitions, and 3) rezip the skin. Even if it could, or if the skin was unzipped in the first place, the color editor would have to find the file that defines the color themes, and this may be any xml file in the skin.

The color editor's philosophy is therefore not to touch the skins directly : the only editable color themes are those you create. To edit a color theme, you should clone it first !

Ok, I've got one question:

I want to change the color of the font when you have it selected in the playlist editor. The color for a lot of skins is unreadable if it is selected, so I'd like to change it. What field in the editor is it? I tried all the font ones and it didn't change it.

You are going to have to play with it

There is a an auto apply check box. And it is likley to be one of the feilds labled Text...

what would be cool (poss in an update) is to make this colour editor fool proof you could make it so that when you click on anything in the main winamp window (when the colour editor is open) the colour editor will recognise that variable and you will then be able to adjust the colour settings. e.g. if i wanted to change the colour of the main window taskbar i would just be able to click on that taskbar once, to select it, and then play with the colour variables to get my desired colour....rather than go through the list individually. just a thought for future development

ok, thats a great Idea, except for one thing, When you click any of the control buttons their action would be preformed.

How ever an editing suite would be a kewl idea.

Mayhaps in winamp 6, or 5.5 or something

Wishes: 1) Paste a whole theme from clipboard.

I just copy an XML-code from the page - anf want to be able to paste it into!
2) make some file extension for color theme, like *.wa5theme, so one could attach such a text file, i could download it, click - and it would be installed into Winamp, like skins are.
3) make Clipboard sentry, so when i copy...(1) ColorEditor will intercept it automatically. Just copy - and it is already imported and maybe applied.
4) make some version-control, maybe by external API.
Say them-maker still enhances his theme. Then uploading it onto some VCS, like CVS on www.SourceForge.net - and i can akways, manually or scheduled or on-winamp-start or on-this-theme-use, allow ColorEditor to check theme from server, and if it was changed - download changes and merge into my local copy.

Yea, it's a WAC, and yea it works in Wa5 just like that.
However, I don't think there are any Wa3 or Wasabi.player WAC's that works in Wa5, because they would all have to be modified first..
I'm not sure how tho.

yea it is..

gen_ff.dll contains almost the entire Wasabi framework, cos the skinning engine is like 90% of Wasabi, so making it load WAC's apparently wasn't that hard.

maybe, with some (dunno how big) modifications.
But don't take my word for it, cos I really don't know how easy or hard it would be.

However, if it would be done, it would work in modern skins only. No wac's work in classic skins, since they are all loaded by gen_ff.dll, which isn't used at all when using classic skins.

Minor Bug: If I delete the same theme that I am using, it crashes Winamp. I'm using Win2K, Winamp 5.01, and Colour Editor 2.02.

Other than that, it's a VERY welcome addition to an already great program. Nice work!
