Urban Hitz Radio is gone

Its kinda dissappointing to see a great radio station go dead. That station was a personal inspiration to me and some of you on here I'm sure. I'm not so sure if i want to expand anymore now.

I admired the fact that the owner payed for every cent of bandwidth he got. What lessons can we learn from the passing of such a successful and popular station?

it's connected to the delay at Stormrevolution

If Stormrevolutions been up and running at this time UrbanHitzradio would have joined up with them.

But till this day all we hear from stormrevolution is NOTHING but promisses - no deeds --- still waiting for them to contact me also.
lucky for me i'm just a small player in the world of stations.

sorry to see JE's station go, even though i did not like the music, i did appreciate his admiration to run everything from his own pocket

A huge loss for the SHOUTcast community, JE was a very dedicated broadcaster -- and great at what he did!

I've known several people to switch to windows media with their ad revenue system (with Microsoft) which basically pays for the bandwidth. For example: http://super70s.us/

What a sad thing to hear ,another great station closing down....
I think a lot of people on this forum reconize his situation to fight a constant battle to keep your station alive.Putting every cent into it and try to go all the way.
In the last year i'm hanging out on this forum i read a lot of posts from JE in which i saw he was a real fanatic person only wanting the best for his station with love for his genre of music.
Sad to hear he did not made it...for what it's worth JE ,Thanks for be an inspiration for lot's of us here...and good luck !
