Official Bento skin color themes thread

I made some themes, but keep in mind that they aren't complete at all. I haven't skinned the notifier window for now.

Could I make a request for for some of the other Winamp Modern colour themes to be ported to the Bento skin. I was trying the other day but I couldn't figure out which groups where which. I will try with the Bento update and see if that helps.

In my package you can found the Varsity theme. I try to port this from winamp modern to bento. It was not so easy to do this and the result is more different to the original. but I can try this again with an other colourtheme from the winamp modern skin.

I forgot to mentioned that the shade modes from my package are very incomplete too.

I think the background from the component tabs also need a colour group.

a extra colour group would be also nice for the songtimer,vis,kbps/khz/stereo text. look at my 'varity' theme, there are these areas a little bit green, but the other text is more yellow than green.

and it would be nice if the scollbars and the player buttons have not the same colour group.

I noticed that at the playlist the selected items have not the same color than the selected items at the media library. I see this also at older winamp versions, so I think its not a bug, its a feature

Direct port from wa modern to wa bento is impossible due to the different standard colors. i am really sorry.
best is you start 2 winamp instances - one w/ wa modern, one w/ bento - and start to create the same theme.

and i don't think i will create more gammagroups, since if i create new ones - the old ones break. so this should be a status quo now.

Minor iBento update: TitleButtonOrange now charcoal instead of aqua (more subtle).
Willing to take colour suggestions. Selection is currently white because although it's difficult to read on the light gray in the playlist, it's easy to read on the pastel blue SelectionBg. Yellow also works to a degree, but does not flow with the theme.

Oh well, if anyone's curious, here's the xml (and the conversion script in case someone wants to try to improve it):

I've finally finished the colour theme I was working on. I tried to recreate the City Night theme from the Winamp Modern skin. I couldn't match everything up as many of the groups are different. Anyway, here it is:

Personally, I prefer this one, because it's more accurate.

The only things I can't ever get the same as Classic skin are:
Volume slider bar (volume bar and seekbar are both linked/controlled by PlayerSliderLight)
and Spectrum vis, which is linked with/controlled by DisplayText.
Besides which, both can only be one color, whereas Classic Volume and Vis go green->yellow->orange->red.

-It looks more "classic".
-I generally prefer the scrollbar track to be visible (ie. different from the background).

realy hard decision, I personaly like the one with the darker scrollbartrack, but the other one looks good too.
In general I think dark themes should have a dark scrollbartrack.

I worked on this theme too. Think it looks better with brighter buttons to have more contrast.

that's strange,
after a second look at the two classic skins I prefer the one from the sreenshot. The first time I look at the boths I thought the scrollbartrack colour was to bright, but now I don't think so anymore. I think I should also use a brighter scrollbartrack at the city lights theme.

perhaps I played to long with the color editor to make and improve my themes. this tool makes addicted. it must come from hell!

I've made a couple of slight changes to my version of City Night. I corrected the bright bit of the sliders, was grey now yellow; regular buttons made brighter, now same colour as the sliders; titlebar buttons made slightly darker.

It still has one problem I need to decide on a way to solve. The Main Window time display is overly bright so the fade/glow effect doesn't show up. If I make it darker, the rest of the text become too dark. I think I try and mod the skin to make it a different group.

Note: I removed the old one so don't ask why you can't download it.

how can you guys like that stupid winamp2 classic look and the piddly little seeker bar? its like a de- evolution of the winamp5 modern skin, talk about 1 step forward(SUI), and 2 backwards for classic crap style.

and this skin bugs me with its annoying toaster popup crap that defaults to always on, and doesn't matter if you turn it off, it turn its self back on again.. yay, cough* rubbish

Wrong thread dude. Please do not hijack the Color Themes thread to bitch about the skin. It's just a skin. If you don't like it, stick to using the Winamp Modern skin instead (it isn't going anywhere). Or use one of the many thousands of other skins available out there. Many users asked for a SingleUI skin. Those who want/like it will use it, those who don't won't.

And I can't reproduce your Notifier problem.
Once set to 'Never' it stays that way for me.

after the beta3 the self-maked colorthemes are all brighter, thats shit!!

there is also a bug with the colorgroups in shade mode (other betas too): the volume crontrol hasn't the same colorgroups like the posbar.

the playersliderbackground comes from windowbackground. you'll see it if you saturate only one of them.
