Admin login does not ask for a password
I have Shoutcast sever V2.6.0.753 installed on a AWS instance. Everything appears to be working OK and if I go to http://<serv ip address> I get the Shoutcast Stream Status page.
The status page has a Stream login and a Server Login link. If I click on either of them I go straight to the respective page whereas I expect to be asked for a password. I don't have any saved logins for the site in my browser. In sc_serv.conf I have settings entered for adminpassword, password and streampassword (all are different passwords). The server login link is taking me to <server ip address>/admin.cgi I can't find any docs that refer to enabling password login, only that the default is no password. The log files are being sent to the folder specified in the config so I'm confident the correct config is being used. How do I enable the password? Thanks for any help. (config file below) code: |

Update:
I've got port 80 forwarded to port 8000 on the server so that I can use a plain url for the stream ie. http://<fqdn>/livestream rather than http://<fqdn>:8000/livestream I've found that if I access the status page using the http://<fqdn>:8000 url, then clicking on the server login tab does request credentials. If I go to the status page using the http://<fqdn> url, then clicking on the server login tab takes me straight into the admin page. So the server is working correctly as far as the credentials being requested for access to the admin page using the 8000 port number. Although I don't understand why the port forwarded url bypasses the security for the server login. |

Very strange. Could this be something with browser cache?
Have you cleared cache and tried the logins? How about a different browser that hasn't seen the site? |

I had tried clearing the Chrome cache and cookies but it looks as though it requires all chrome windows closing before it is effective. Testing with an incognito window resulted in the credentials being requested. I've confirmed that the credentials are asked for when using the plain url. |
