Winamp and numark dj io ext sound card

Hello I am a new winamp user. I am also a new DJ but a dance teacher looking to use winamp to play music for my dance student parties, with a laptop and bose L1 tower speaker. Ive loaded playlists from Itunes into Winamp and I like the simplicity of clicking on the first song, and it just rolls to the next and so on. right now it plays fine through the laptop. I bought a Numark dj IO external soundcard to hook up to the Bose L1. How do I get winamp to play the music through the external sound card and through the bose, instead of laptop speakers? do I need to modify the laptop sound preferences in control panel to play through the external soundcard? Its confusing to me. can anyone let me know? thankyou so much!
