software to record stream directly from the server?

Basically,

I want to record when the DJs get on. I know they can do it independently on their end but I was hoping if there is something that can record the stream directly from the server itself. All they would have to click on would be a script or something of sort and it'll start recording. Of course the recording will stop when the stream is disconnected (DJ leaves) and leaves an mp3 file of the session.

Is there something of the sort?

Thanks!

there's plenty of things that record shoutcast streams ... but one can't discuss them here I don't think ....

if the dj streams through sc_trans v2, that can "archive" the dj stream automatically on connection ... if I recall

really? umm well I'm using ices for now as I don't think sc_trans does foreign characters (I could be wrong on this).

Do you know of any streams recorder? Can you PM me?

I was thinking of doing it server based as thats the most reliable way to do. I was really hoping for some linux software that I can compile in the system actually. Alas I'm out of luck on this one.

linux server based, I'd look at sc_trans 2 ... I don't know what foreign characters have to do with it ... it's audio

when using the v2 tools, it is all done via utf-8 for the encoding of titles so foreign characters aren't an issue though that assumes using a v2 stack whereas mix-matching v2 sc_trans with a v1 DNAS is probably not going to work but i'm not 100% on that currently.

that's not allowed as its a violation of the rules you agreed to when signing up to these forums.
