100% CPU in Vista RTM x64

I know that Vista isn't officaly supported yet, just thought i'd post it for when it is.

I have installed/run it in XP SP2 compatibily mode, and in native vista mode. I've also tried granting it admin privalages. Also tried classic and modern skins.

But whenever winamp is open (playing or not), the cpu goes straight to 100%.

I just tested Winamp on a Vista x86 (32-bit) machine, with a lower performance rating than my home one. And it ran just like it did on XP, no problems at all.
So it appears to be a Vista 64bit issue.
Hope this helps when you start developing winamp for Vista.

hi, I'm a XP user.
I just got an automatic upload for Winamp Remote and since then whenever I launch Winamp Remote, CPU goes straight up to 100%. that never happened before it has been uploaded.
so your trouble might not be because of 64bit thing...

right, so only happens when running winamp remote for your situation, if that's so then you need to make a post in this forum and not in this one since it's not a winamp related item as winamp remote is a 3rd party app/bundle

hi,

Vista x64 does issue a known compatibility warnin' when tryin' to install Winamp.
If you select to ignore the warnin' do not complain about issues !

i have the exact issue using WA 5.32 pro and Vista x86 (32-bit) Ultimate edition. no problems installing natively, no other Vista-related issues, but as soon as WA is running, my dual-core CPU is pegged.

please advise.

I'm unable to burn and the scroll bar on the media library smart views doesen't allow dragging, as well as a high CPU usage problem.

Does anyone's burning work, perhaps its something I have set wrong?

the scrollbar issue is known since vista has broken a standard treeview behaviour (when compared to older OSes). no idea on the other point
