Java or flash PLS player?
Iv looked around but never really found an exact link to a download of a web based pls player, in java or flash.
So is there anything out there, in java or flash, that will play like winamp or real player, but web based, so the listeners dont need realplayer or winamp installed? Thankyou. |

Sorry to raise the dead in terms of threads... but freedomaudio.com is no longer a working URL, and i'm also in desperate need of a web-based STREAM music player, that will play my mp3 encoded .pls/m3u etc streams.
I see it on the major websites, but i can't for the life of me find one. I don't want one that uses a winamp agent (and just plays in the browser using the winamp player as an engine), i need one that is standalone. Are there any ones made from java/ajax technology?? |

That is standalone and although it looks a bit like Winamp it is not. If you want to see/hear one in action then check out my site in the listen links on main page right side. |

Thanks for the reply!
I would really however prefer a player that i can embed in my website and is a lot more simple than that. Is there no java/ajax code that can stream a playlist file? How do life365 and websites like that have them, yet nobody else knows how? |

Ther are no codes available that will do this as far as i know.
We offer a content delivery server for this purpose which connects to your shoutcast server and you can put what ever front end player on your website you choose. |

The only script that is available to source a server is sc_trans that will run on a linux server,
There are various offerings like live 365 and our content delivery servers which will source your stream but we do not make this publically available as it is a product we have designed and written for our own uses. |

Does the flash player provided by nick@ss works with aacPlus streams? I tried it and it doesn't work on mine neither (test stream here: http://radiopulsorock.sytes.net:3810/).
At the moment I stream with WMA, but if I find a Flash Player (I read that Adobe's Flash Player 9 supports HE-AACv2) that allows me to stream with aacPlus/Shoutcast I'll move my stream to Shoutcast servers with an embedded flash player. |

Hi all i have noticed with this player that sometimes you can hear all i can decribe it as ''bip's and blup's'' not a major issue but something i have noticed whilst listening & monitoring also ive added a better background image to make it more funky & used a pop-up + size script for a direct click link from my site.
cheers all Andy |

There are many online translators you can use but its faily self explanatory if you look at the config. |

HI, all you need to do is add your server ip/port in the config file and upload the lot to your webspace job done, not tricky especially as im fluent in '' something'' but not french

thought i would share this little tidbit, not sure if it helps, but you should be able to get *any* flash player to work by using the nsv link work around.
The player embed is from one of the most prolific flash players ( you can skin it, chop, slice it, dice it in every direction ) from http://www.jeroenwijering.com/ If you simply add the following to your website ( change the shoutcast ip and port ) and away you go. You need to give it 2-3 seconds before you hear audio, but should work a treat. Example PHP Code:
I dont think this has been mentioned before, but apologies if it has already been covered somewhere. BW Without open minds the world will die. Open yours and correct the mistakes you are making right now. |

Oh btw ..This flash player does work however it uses up all your server bandwidth.....It doesnt stream directly from the Shoutcast server to the listner...The flash player handles the stream through whatever webserver you have the flashplayer installed on and uses up all the bandwidth. So if your Web server is not on the same server as your SC server your using double the bandwidth.
After using up all my web servers bandwidth I had to abandon this player.. Sigh seems that there will never be a universal player |

With acc?
Hello, with the novelty of sc_trans 2.0 which transmits using acc, I wonder if you have a player in flash that play radios in acc, as I found work here in the forum, but when a stream in acc not work.
Thank you now |

you must pay for a flash server that relays
shoutcast aac+ streams. So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish. ![]() ![]() |

To add to it, you must pay for the server application if you want to run your own flash server. At the moment Wowza and Adobe Flash server are the only two that I know of, and both are $1000 USD for unlimited clients. ANd the last time I looked, you will need to wrap the aac+ in an mp4 wrapper, so Nick must have done something different to be able to get a regular aac+ stream converted to Flash.
Your mileage may vary! |

Here is a flash server being sourced from a 32k AAC shoutcast server.
http://webspace.streamsolutions.co.uk/flashtests/ http://87.117.193.145:9076/ ![]() We are working on the buffer as there is a little more delay that we would like but that should be sorted soon. Last edited by Nick@ss; 2nd August 2008 at 18:02. |

i like this new service from ss when i have
more time i will play with it further. I can confirm though it works great when relaying a shoutcast server or through sc_dsp connecting. So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish. ![]() ![]() |
