Constant Buffering on Shoutcast stream.
I have been able to setup shoutcast at serverhostingcenter.com using a Sonifex Audio IP Streamer as my source. Although i am able to listen to the stream online, the stream starts constant buffering after 1 minute. I have a dedicated 512 Kpbs link for the Streamer. Is there anything I can do to stream smoothly?

i'm having the same problem on my vps dedicated to my radio, even from the host-node, i'm having a buffering issue, starting whenever the song change until i stop/start then it will restart at the moment the song will start to change ( around 30 sec before)
i don't have any BW issue, on a 100mbit dedicated server to see the problem in action, http://radio.razyhost.ca:8000/ |

hey there,
i'm having the same issue on my dedicated server (on a 100mbit with around 6% use) even if i try from the host-node (using VPS) like 30 sec before a song change i get a constant buffering you can test it also ( pm for URL ) i'm using everything at last version. I even added an adaptative buffer but it's not working better. i need to stop/start to be okey until the next song change. if anyone got a solution, tell us. |

sshatry: what player are you using to test the stream? what version of the DNAS? what bitrate are you running the stream at?
razy: what player are you using to test the stream? as what is being described matches with trying to use the site flash player which in conjunction with some v2 DNAS setups can cause the issue you are describing (and is the most likely thing as you are using a v2 DNAS). the issue stems from how the title information is inserted into the stream which causes the site player to falter (as well as most other flash based players). -daz |

i've tried with Winamp 5.541 & 5.623/internal and VLC 2.0.1 and none of them have shown any buffering issues after the few minutes i've been connected (as you will be able to see from your logs).

what version of Winamp are you using to listen to the stream?
most likely this is something specific to how you are accessing the stream (e.g. older Winamp version over a constricted wireless connection). either way i'm not able to replicate the issue, maybe someone else will be able to test the stream out to see if it happens for them. -daz |
