Connect a source to the server and send a stream to it. Then you will see more information in the logfiles regarding what the issue may be.

Your server is reachable on port 80
Your server is NOT reachable on port 8888

So you must contact France-Host technical support and ask them...

1) Are you allowed to run Shoutcast on their VPS or Dedicated Server plans?

If yes..

2) Can they help you open port 8888 and port 8889 to your server?

If no... which is the answer I would expect from a web hosting company, you will have to find another provider to run Shoutcast

Good luck!

Hmmmm.....

Everything looks sound until you try to run DNAS. It doesnt matter how your source is set, its not going to connect to the server if DNAS is not running properly.

You have apache running on this server? Hosting any websites from it? I know this is childsplay nonsense, but lets start from the basics, and work it from there....

The answer most likely lies on the device between your server and the Internet (Firewall).

If there is a firewall blocking ports, you must configure that firewall. If you do not own the firewall, contact whoever does.

This is true, but if it was a firewall issue, you think the server, once the syntax initialized, would return return some form of NAK error code.

Call support again.

You need port, and port+1 opened

If your shoutcast server is on 8000, open 8000 + 8001
If on 8888, open 8888 + 8889

Listeners connect on port
DSP connects on port+1

Do not change anything on your DSP though. When you enter 8888, it will automatically use 8889
