Winamp will not play after hibernation

My computer takes 10 minutes from POST to being logged on and ready to roll. I like to hibernate it, I also like to listen to music using winamp.

When I bring it out of hibernation when I have hibernated it with winamp running, I press play and it looks like it has played the first second of music, it then stops. it makes no sound whatsoever.
It also has no sound on the computer in general and requires a reboot to get it working again.

My computer is a custom build:
1.8ghz Sempron 3000+
1gb RAM
XP Media Centre Edition SP2
Sound card: PCI Trust 5.1 surround sound SC-5250

The sound card drivers are up to date, as well as windows update.

I think it also does the same when I standby the system and then bring it out of standby.

Thanks
Jack

PS: I did a few searches on this but none had the same problem as me.

Di you have the latest version, Winamp 5.5. There was an issue in like 5.24 that Hibernation and standby would cause Winamp to shut down, but that is long resolved. Anyways...

full uninstall and reinstall

It is Winamp 5.5. I only upgraded to it a few days ago, would it be worth doing an un-install re-install?
