i noticed that Winamp and Shoutcast DSP are not supported on a MAC.. if there are any MAC users here, can you please let me know what your using to stream/broadcast music. i have a PC setup as a Shoutcast server now so thats not a problem... i have some DJs that use serato on a MAC that would also like to stream...

there's a mac os x (intel) version of the server and transcoder software so the main part of what is needed to broadcast is available for them. so as long as they have a valid SHOUTcast source then the server shouldn't have any issues with streaming that out.

DrO,
typically i have DJs (PC users) use the WinAmp/DSP plugin to connect to my server. with this not being available for mac users, is there another MAC option? Thanks again. |

You can use an application called Nicecast to stream from Mac's, however it's not free.

either way, there is software out there which can provide the source to the server for Mac so hopefully some other suggestions will be made (though i've never seen too much about Mac from other users on here but i'm hoping to be proved wrong ![]() -daz |

Aside from sc_trans, there are really no free options* for OS X. Nicecast is what we use on the road.
*Audion is retired and no longer supported, and last I remember, you can only stream playlist or live audio - but you can't switch between the two during a broadcast. You can also run windows applications on OS X using CrossOver. CrossOver basically wraps windows application in Wine. (Wine allows Windows apps to run on linux, bsd and os x). CrossOver is not free. If you're adventurous, you can download the wine source for free and create packages yourself - but I recommend the CrossOver method. idobi Network - http://idobi.com/ idobi Radio - http://idobiradio.com/ idobi App now available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone (http://idobi.com/app/) |
