Enqueue no longer works

I am currently using Winamp 5.63 (x86). One of things that I was able to do before was to be able to press J for the Jump to File window and select songs and enqueue them with Alt-Q. However, with this version I have been unable to do that. All I get is an angry beep from the operating system suggesting the action is invalid. Now I have no idea how to fix this. Any recommendations?

Try pressing Q, not Alt-Q. That works for me.

Just tried Q or Alt-Click on the Jump to File window. Pressing Q just makes the Jump to File go to the first song with the letter Q and Alt-Click did not do anything at all. =(

in the JTF window, it's typically 'Alt+Q' unless the language pack has changed the behaviour (since it's based on the text of the button - look for what has the _ beneath it on the queue button).

other thing is it to try with the unskinned version. otherwise there's little that can be done about it anytime soon.

Unless, like DrO said, you're using a lang pack with a modified hotkey...

The skinned version works ok for me, but to disable that option, it's in Winamp > Prefs > Jump To File > Display tab:
Uncheck "Skin the window in the current Winamp skin style"

I attempted the change to the unskinned version, sadly it did nothing to fix the Alt-Q in the JTF dialog.

Also tried to see if there are any other language packs loaded on Winamp, and it's currently defaulted to the only one available, which is English.

Any other ideas? Sad panda that my Alt-Q doesn't work on the JTF dialog anymore.

I admire your co-operation but do yourself a favour and get the One for Nunz plugin. here
Using it is a lot easier than typing a list. Also, it provides helpful information besides a plugin list. There are instructions for use at the linked post.

The Winamp Info Tool (by Koopa) is also useful, but the file produced by the One for Nunz plugin is preferred.

Thanks for the link! I downloaded and installed One for Nunz v5.11. However when attempting to use it, it will not generate a list of all listings nor generate a list of installed plug-ins. I was able to get the other 3 options to work (supported file extensions, input plug-in api compatibility, and plug-ins not unicode taskbar compatible). I have included those lists here.

I currently use Windows 7 Professional with SP1, 12 GB ram, AMD Phenom II X6 1075 CPU with ATI Radeon 6870 GPU.

Unicode Taskbar Compatibility Listing

to me, when one for nunz refuses to create a plugin list, that points to some kind of corruption or leftover crap, either in directories or the registry.

i'd run crap cleaner after uninstall, but before reinstall as well.

Just did a clean install as per the FAQ. Then ran CCleaner to delete any rogue registry files. Re-installed and the JTF issue continues.

one for nunz should still work for 5.63, right?

i wonder if maybe he has a virus or some kind of systray app or something that is hindering the alt-q and the one for nunz?

Just to add, this is a fresh install of Windows with a fresh install of Winamp. Winamp worked fine before I purged, now I'm just frustrated that it no longer works like it did before I re-installed everything. All the programs running on my computer were the same ones as before, only updated to the newest variants.

As for the possible systray stuff, I run Avast for antivirus and Comodo for firewall protection. I have shut off both those programs to see if that would resolve the issue to no avail.

have you disabled the hotkeys the ATI does?

what i can't get past is that one for nunz does not work. something is stopping it.

i run avast (free) so maybe its your comodo or avast ver if different? maybe its somthing else... but on a fresh win7 install with a fresh winamp install, there is no reason O4N shouldn't be working.

Problem resolved!!

Turns out the newest version of Comodo is to blame. I uninstalled it and voila: JTF now works as it should. So note to everyone: the new Comodo Firewall might not be the best for Winamp.

I find it hard to believe a firewall caused your problem. Is this new Comodo product some type of combination package, including a firewall and other functions? What is it's full name and version number?

Comodo Firewall Version 6.0.260739.2674

One thing that is that part of the program is an application control component, which I never had an issue with on previous variants of the program. However they overhauled the program for the latest release, which might explain some of the issues I got. Kinda wish they still had an older version for me to install since the past versions never gave me issues (and were easier to use and customize too).

the question tho, is what is it about what O4N was doing, in reporting plugins, that comodo would stop it? it seems well beyond the scope of a firewall, esp since i don't think O4N does any outside network traffic.

personally, i just use win7 firewall and avast free. thats enough for me, although BPs solution of making an old 486 his router and blocking ads with it, is very appealing.

One of the things Comodo's Firewall includes is a application/process control program to protect the system and the system registry from malware. It must have, for whatever reason, thought that O4N is some form of process that needed to be prevented from running. However, that being said I had no issues with older versions of the software (versions 4.0 and 5.0), so it beats me why version 6.0 now has issues with it.

Hi kilipokid,

Virus and malware detection programs can make errors (false positives). The major vendors let you send them a copy of the program that is flagged in error, so that they can make adjustments to their detection routines. Check the Comodo website to see if they offer this service.
