Winamp crashes

I run winamp, listen some music and just stop it and go gaming (for example Quake3 or UnrealTournament). After doing that when I try to close winamp it crashes and Doctor Watson comes

I use Windows XP Pro without any servicepack. (I hate servicepacks for Windows NT5+ !) Computer is AMD Duron 800MHz 256Mb RAM.

Winamp version 2.80, but version 2.81 also have this bug.
Videocard ATI Radeon VE (7000) 64Mb, +TV
Soundcard VIA AC'97 (dont tell me that it's shit, it is cool soundcard if properly installed and configured !)

It happens with BOTH waveout and directsound output plugins.
It is (I think) a problem with windows virtual memory because it happens after exiting from heavy applications such as games.

I play UT regularly with Winamp in the background, and I can't reproduce this crash. What are the details of the crash error (c/o Dr Watson log or WinXP Applog). What type of crash is it? Is there an exact error message?

btw, AC'97 isn't a soundcard, it's the audio codec for an onboard sound chip.
Have you got the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers for your motherboard chipset?

I aslo play UT and I see this bug every time I exit UT and try to close Winamp. But (!!!) yesterday and today I haven't seen error message ! I've changed nothing in system parameters. But bug is still there ! After "correct" exiting Winamp leaves skin bmp's in temp dir and doesn't update playlist and last position on it and I have to save it to winamp.m3u manually if I want to use it at next start, and I also have to remove temp skin files manually. Drwatson already doesn't start when exiting Winamp.

And so, about drivers ...
I saw the LATEST VIA 4-in-1 driver pack for MY motherboard. I've tried to install it and after reboot Windows crashed down and there was no way to undo this, except using Ghost
So, the latest drivers doesn't mean the best drivers.

BUT !!! I've tried to install OTHER version of this drivers for my motherboard, as you told. And it doesn't fix the problem.

PS. Since I saw this bug first time I have reinstalled Windows twice.
