How to add existing album art?
Hi!
I've got an mp3 album. When I go on media library and select "Get album art", winamp says can't find it. So I've founded it with google, and put the jpg in the album's folder. But I can't see in the media library! It's strange, because I've already got some album with jpg in the folder, and the media library recognize it as soon as I copied the folder in the media library. How can I set it if winamp doesn't show it me? Thanks! |

Dropping jpgs into folders - just call it "folder.jpg" or "album name.jpg" and it will be picked up.
If still not picked up, you can go into VIEW FILE INFO for a track from the album and then use the LOAD ARTWORK... button on the ARTWORK tab to choose the image file you want to use. I often cheat and just COPY an image into my past buffer and use the PASTE ARTWORK button in that same dialog box. (For example, I copy artwork from Amazon or Google). Art only needs to be applied to one track per album as the file will be dropped into the Album's folder and then loaded for all other tracks. |

Just downloaded and installed latest Winamp version in order to resolve a problem, but I still have it - in 'View file info.../Artwork tab, Load artwork and Paste artwork - does not imbed to file, yet this was possible before. Renaming the artwork as 'cover.jpg' or 'Folder.jpg does not get picked up, yet 'Save As...' creates a new jpg with a new name - what an I doing wrong?

There is also a plug-in that allows Winamp's 'View File Info' editor to embed artwork. See link below. You still have to provide the images separately. The plug-in does not search for the artwork.

It is archived at getwinamp.net. Whether it is compatible with the latest Winamp, I don't know, I haven't tried.
