Neo-Nazi youths murdered boy, 17, for looking like a Jew

Three young neo-Nazis went on trial in east Germany yesterday charged with the "bestial murder" of a schoolboy. The teenager was tortured and killed after his attackers decided that his baggy trousers and dyed blond hair made him "look like a Jew".

The men aged 17, 18 and 24 faced charges on separate counts of causing grievous bodily harm, coercion, attempted murder, and murder by a court in the town of Neuruppin. They are accused of killing Marinus Schoeberl, 17, a white German, whose mutilated body was discovered in a farm silage pit near the isolated village of Potzlow, north of Berlin, last November, four and a half months after his death.

Usually I would be against the death penalty. In this instance, I think an exception should be made, though..

No the death peniltie is too simple to easy to quick and painless. Somone like this needs to live the rest of there natural and Unnatural lives. Felling the pain this poor boy went though. Added with drugs that make them scared every second of there life. People like them are the real scum of this earth. There is no place for fasicium [spelling] In the modern or future world. We as humans can only servive if we live peacfully. Damit now im starting to sound like some sort of preachure IM not but thise ppl need to live and feel the pain thoughout there lives.

Well Germany is not the only country with that kind of problem. Most of the "axis" countries still have a few people that can't realize the war is long over and continue to do things like that.

What is meant by "axis" is the Axis countries of WW2, not Bush's stupid speech. Axis nations included Germany and Italy. And this has alot to do with apartheid. Although there was no mass genocide in South Africa, people were still segmented based on something manmade.

for somebody from a country where black skined and spanish speaking people get shoot by the police for no other reason then racism, that is a very strong word. besides such racist attacks in germany are a absolut rarity with a deadly ending or without. i should know there my wife is from thailand. what you here and see on tv in the us tv news is mostly propaganda and biased infotainment. yes i have been in your country and i really couldn't believe the poverty i saw in that many places. there is nothing like that, not even close like that in germany.

i don't see that as a problem. the biggest problem is when these parties get supporters. that implies that there are a lot of disillusioned, misinformed people around. the only use these parties play is to show people when they need to do more to explain what causes problems.

Sounds like someone is spouting off Michael Moore's bogus rhetoric and 'stats'. Even if these numbers hold any truth they are not per capita and are by no means provide a basis for comparison.

if you want to do a per capita comparison, the populations of the US and germany (around mid-1997 - would've gotten newer details, but the net is shit for this sort of thing) were 268m and 82m respectively. these make only relevant figures for comparison in this way:

murder and homicide in germany: year 1999 - about 1 per 10000 people

murder and homicide in usa : year 1999 - about 0.6 per 10000 people

michael moore's film was more than bogus rhetoric. although some of the stats were fairly questionable, i'm yet to see a critique of bowling for columbine that isn't several times worse, especially for rhetoric.
