I read somewhere that it was going to be around $200. I wouldn't believe much in the way of prices or actual release dates until later this year. Things should be more solid by then.

The Nintendo DS looks cool but i can't wait to see Sony's PSP. it looks superior to The DS graphicswise they are even saying GT4 is going to be on it.

Be ready to pay twice as much for the PSP than the DS, too. Also, be prepared for shitty battery life and expect load times. Since the DS doesn't have discs as the storage medium, there aren't any drive motors to run to move the disc or laser and cause the battery to be expended too quickly. Also, since the DS has solid-state media, there won't be any waiting for parts of the game to load... I'm sure that the DS gamepaks will probably be cheap to produce compared to the UMDs that the PSP will use, also.

My view, anyways.

I saw the videos of Metroid that is going to be on Nintendo DS and several shows about DS on TechTV. Who wants to use a stylus to click on the enemies to shoot them? My hand is so long that clicking on the screen would cover half of it. However, having two screens can be cool and some of those games look like they have some pretty nice graphics for a handheld. I can't wait until both DS and PSP come out so I can see how they match up.

I think its a little too late to talk about price and battery life for the PSP let alone the DS sense there is no info about such things yet. The graphics for the nintendo DS from the look of the game footage i seen looks like graphics from a nintendo 64 game or PSone and the graphics on games for the PSP look way better than that so as of right now it looks like the PSP has the DS in graphics but its still too early to tell

ds > psp

people will expect spectacular graphics from psp games. this will force the developers to spend less time on gameplay...

....and for handhelds its all about gameplay.

.........?.

Well if that is going to be the case then the PSP will be a flop. i especially do noy like it being a multipurpose device. still nintendo is being the most risky here with the dual screen gimmick. this will either be a major sucess or end up in ninetndo's back rooms with the Virtual boy

it's more of a "innovation" than "gimmick"

and we're going to be doing things with games that we've never done before....and it'll be fun.

the psp is just a fancy ps2 trying to compete with the ipod.

.........?.

Remember, Nintendo has made a duel-screen handheld before...Either Nintendo was ahead of their time, or it just didn't have good duel-screen games. Maybe it will be different this time around.

Anyone got a shot of what's around the back yet on this thing?, I'm interested to know if it has a port for a link cable, or do we have to rely 100% on it's bluetooth conectivity?

Looks schweet. Actually, I think both designs look great... Especially that Cherrywood edition of the first design. The second design looks a little more modern.

They're both shamelessly retro. I think the second one moreso, but *shrug*

This is no bad thing, in any case

I think the first one looks a little more retro than the second one, but it's only my opinion.
