hi.
my question is: If my friend will to buy iPhone in USA and then come to Europe (SPAIN) with this phone. How you think if iPhone will be working here with our local Telecommunication Companies. If I can call here with iPhone in Europe. I'm not sure , so may be anyone know more information about this.

Thanks ........

I guess that's no problem.

/checks: http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
it's a quadband gsm system.
as far as the phone itself is concerned it should work fine.

/laughs at the poor list of supported audio
/strokes his HTC wizard

Don't even bother doing this. The iPhone currently has no European providers supported, so in effect your friend will have to buy the phone attached to an AT&T contract, which will just end up being horrendously expensive.

Tell him to wait until the end of the year when its released in Europe.

theoretically it should work if you could flash the software so its not sim locked.

you'll probably be missing a lot of iphone specific services in your area though.

I still can't see the point of the iphone without hsdpa support? seems like a waste of money.

The iPhone is not unlocked yet, there's a wiki which has progress on hacking the device, although they request you don't link to it directly. First Google result for "iPhone hacking".

The fun part is that in the US it's legal to circumvent protection methods for purposes of unlocking phones from a single network. And I believe that over here it's not legal to sell a phone that cannot be unlocked (if it's not a rule in the UK, it certainly is in some parts of Europe).
