Get listed in directory?
Hi,
I recently set up SHOUTcast on my virtual dedicated server. I was wondering, how do I get my station listed? I set the information in SHOUTcast source in Winamp. When I connect to the server I don't see the station listed. Do you have to meet requirements or do something special to be listed in the directory? Thanks, ~David |

As long as your station is public and visible from the 'net, the shoutcast directory will pick it up. Sometimes it takes a little while (30 minutes or so).
Look in the logfile for yp touch messages. If you see them, that's a very good sign. |

Thanks! I do see that in the log. So it shows the top 1000 stations in Winamp. Is there anyway to see more? That way I would be able to tell if it's really in there.

No, Winamp is limited to the top 1000 (due to server stress). To become listed you just have to become more popular.
