Should we never suggest the search? Should we only do it on odd numbered days? Would that satisfy your annoy-o-meter?

Certainly, if we're going to assign levels of annoyingness to threads, this one comes in above the referenced one.

And perhaps you missed Jones' title:
Pointing out the
obvious since 1971

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

Not gonna happen.

I am a bit curious as to why you think NEVER suggesting it is a good idea. Maybe we should just remove the search function altogether in that case, since we obviously don't endorse it's use. And then the tech support forums, and the skinning forums, and the development forums. Because without the search, they'll become all but useless (just chat rooms with extremely long histories) And then we can merge recycle bin, bitchlist, international connection, music-o-rama, Games Center and GD. Since, you know...it'll be hard to find that great thread about the existance of god and his interest in Lebanese death metal, if posts are spread out through a bunch of different areas. This way you can just click through several thousand-score pages of topics to find the one you need.

In summation: Use the Search Function. It's a Good Thing™.

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

Why should people on the forums have to answer questions more than once?

A lot of the people around here, and I can't blame them, becuase I'm one of them won't post in a topic asking the same question as one they've already answered in.

If we see a topic asking a question that's already been asked, a lot of the people aren't going to bother answering again, because all the poster has to do is search the forums. More often than not, it's in the person asking the question's benefit to just search. It's easy, and quick.

Forget shit being handed to you on a silver platter just because you ask again. People have lives, and aren't going to jump to your every whim just because you have a thread up that's already been done.

[Edit]And as far as you bitching about forum policies, don't forget that this place is a privilege, and not a right. You have NO right to be here. So if you don't like how long it takes you to be able to post again, or the forums that are here, first remember that noone asked you to come here. And after you've thought about that, Leave.[/Edit]

Yeah come on. Using the search feature isn't a bad idea, and like Fickle said, be prepared to defend yourself. Fazer made a really good point there, and for the most part saying 'blah blah blah' really makes it seem like you didn't read/understand the post. Sheesh.

Believe it or not, dink, there are thousands of topics never done. Let your mind and your sanity go and search the depths for new heights. That or resurrect someone else's thread.
