Hope this link works...I Quick Replied so I couldn't attach a file when I edited it and I didn't want to double-post:

http://www.geocities.com/michaelthecat/mbdm.zip

(the link works for me, but I know people have had trouble with files on geocities pages in the past)

btw...this goes incredibly fast. It looks best between 10 and 30 FPS.

Ok here goes, my first shot at alpha blending . Guess I'm out already, having seen some of the submissions, but I still have to give it a shot right? Did a lot of forum searching on what alpha blending is, hope this is what the judges ment.

I hope the next round (if I'm in) is really something with names as it should be, instead of a technique contest.

About the preset:
It's supposed to be a huge powerball which is heated on an intergalactic furnace.

My entry... I'm not sure if it qualifies...

I'll prolly re-entry this preset once I make the ripples a getosc ring (music detection) or once I find a better effect.

EDIT : Oh yeah : UnConeD, don't bitch about the realism

I finished my preset: alpha-ray damage (2 more dead). The alphablending is used to create the orange rings that act as a render and alphablending is also used as a way to change the colors. In around 10% of the beats, it'll go to a d=-d maximum blended mode. If you look carefully you can see that the center of the rotation is also the center of the colorchanging alpha. I hope you like it, because I sure do.

(required ape's: channel shift)

heres my update..
i think the judges had better be careful to make sure they get the finished version of these presets. It seems everyone is sending in updates.

When is the deadline btw?
