Not Using Metatag Title

I'm using Winamp Pro v5.666 Build 3516 (x86) - Dec 12 2013

A lot of artists I collect add cover songs to bonus disks etc as well as the occasional collection (ie Rush - Feedback, Styx - Big Bang Theory). I decided to make a playlist of the ones in my collection and put it on shuffle/repeat. Often, they play songs I am not completely familiar with and I'm curious who the original artist was. This is awkward to look up each time, so I tried including the original artist in the title field. It doesn't always show up. I've tried various bracket types to no avail.
(ie. Arnold Layne (ThePink Floyd))
(ie. Arnold Layne [ThePink Floyd])
(ie. Arnold Layne {ThePink Floyd})
(ie. Arnold Layne 'ThePink Floyd')
(ie. Arnold Layne "ThePink Floyd")
(ie. Arnold Layne -ThePink Floyd-)

Winamp Preferences/Playlist/Titles = %title% - %artist% - %album%

I used to have an operator to display the file name if the title field was empty. I thought that might have been the problem. It wasn't.

Why won't it show the title properly?

It will be helpful to find out the difference between a file for which it does show up and one for which it doesn't.
I suspect the problem is caused by the metadata.
It is useful to use another app to examine the tags, like Mp3tag.

I'd add a couple of examples if I could figure out how to add attachments.

Have you tried clicking "Manage Attachments" in the Addional Options section, when replying?
If you do, make sure to completely expand the window horizontally, to see all buttons.

Yes. I think it has to do with me being a new member. I don't have enough posts yet.

Maybe you can post a link to a file sharing service.
For example: https://www.sendspace.com/

You should now be able to upload attachments and access your control panel.

The main reason we set a post# requirement level on new users is to try prevent mass spamming in posts / signatures / profiles.

I've no problem manually promoting a new member once it's confirmed they're not a spammer :-)

Nope, clicking the "Manage Attachments" button still does nothing. Also, can I attach .mp3s or would I post a screen grab of Properties/Details?

Audio files must be placed in an Archive (zip file) to be uploaded to this forum.

If you mean a screen grab of Properties/Details from Windows File Explorer, I say: don't bother.
Microsoft has a reputation for mis-handling metadata, especially for FLAC files.
But even if you are using MP3 files, File Explorer is a poor app to use for evaluating metadata.
Mp3tag is a better choice.

I still recommend uploading any audio files to a file sharing site and posting a link to them here.

I looked up sendspace. Found a bunch of malware comments. Even if I can avoid them, I wouldn't send anybody there. Any other suggestions.

Because it's practically useless in Winamp.
The "original artist" tag field can be read and written by Winamp, at least for MP3 and FLAC files.
But I can't see how it can be used as column header, Smartview field option, or search query string.
%originalartist% will be expanded for Title formatting, but not for FLAC files.
Please show me if I'm wrong.

I actually don't use that field bc it isn't very well supported imo, I use the composer field for that instead, and I add the word cover, or parody or whatever, and sometimes I use the album artist field and add the word tribute.
