How to get Winamp to stream in Windows 8 64 ?

Hello. I have it loaded and the introduction plays, but when I go to
Shoutcast Radio to choose a station to listen to, all it does is goes
black. I can't even bookmark the station or I would try and listen
to it that way. What am I doing wrong. Works great in Windows 7
and have listened to Winamp a very long time.

Any help or advice is very much appreciated.

Thank you for looking.

what was the issue? as i've not seen the issue on the clean Win8 x64 install but it is on a UK connection so never sees the ad that pops up (which has been known to break things).
