AutoEQ

I was wondering how winamp's auto equalizer works. I know in xmms i can have a file called 'dir_default.preset' and all of the files in this directory are loaded with that preset unless another '.preset' file with the same name as that song is found. Does winamp work a similar way. I would like to know because i am setting up a network wide share of files for all of the users to share and i would like for them to not have to set equalizer settings for each song.

No.

All Auto-Load presets are stored in winamp.q2 in the Winamp folder. You can save presets associated with a song. This needs to be repeated for all songs. This cannot be applied to a directory.
