You must learn to adapt to changes and set backs. God knows there have been many.

Now with my stations on iTunes the taste of Victory is so sweeet.

well done it good to see people actually make it in the industry and become a known station as so many come and go and give up so easy.

be carefull tho as iTunes will make or break you

i have seen stations go from 20 listeners to 2000 in under 24 hours.

also be carefull as they will de list you if you do not comply with their requirements as fast as they listed you.

i hope your pockets can afford the growth

Too bad itunes still doesn't support playing aac+ streams.

Yeah if itunes supported aacplus that would be awesome.

As it is I might have to switch from 96k to 64k as my numbers are increasing.

I thought that my numbers would sky rocket over night too. But what is odd is my numbers are growing steadily everyday a little at a time. But not all the sudden.

Oh and dont worry. I am prepared to serve at least 500 people at 64k which according to my convos with itunes folks is sufficient with them.

I am getting a dedicated server with a 100mbps connection here in a few days.

And NO its not a dedibox. I sure learned my lesson with them.

Well, you have a contact at itunes now, let them know that they are missing the boat! That would save me a lot of headache. Today my boss said that we may need to change our stream to something that any idiot can play without having to download or install any codecs/plug-ins. In order to do that and keep the quality high I told him we will need to switch to mp3 at about 128k. I'm not too happy about that as we will lose a lot of the features that we paid a lot of money to get.

Stupid people are messing things up again.

mp3 format is the most widely accepted format out there - just trumps everything else. With mp3 you can setup playlist files that launch Windows Media Player, iTunes, RealPlayer, Winamp, etc., etc. With no other format do you have this wide of a range.

Maybe OS makers like MS and Apple should incorporate aacplus encoding in their OS . So no matter what player you use aacplus will decode it.

Give it time and they will. AAC+, as we all know, sounds just as good ac mp3 at half the bitrate. Major audio players have thrown their support into aac+ ... just give it time.

Apple, however, needs a swift kick in the ass over this issue.

I wish i was optomistic as you all ,that microshaft and the like will get together on this as it ,i think,weakins there
grasp on the proprietary nature of the players
integrated into operating systems . i feel like the possibility of a.0.l to pull the active x by rava is as real as widows media server costs money. This only an opinion, but lets face it, bizz is about money, and these guys no how to squeezs the green off the paper.

I'm a pessimist, but there is still a chance that Microflaccid will add the codec (their own flavor) to an update, and probably do it before Apple.
