Another Microsoft security Flaw....

(Reprinted from my post at Ajstone's)

Just picked up This at Yahoo News : Microsoft Admits New Windows Problem

By TED BRIDIS, AP Technology Writer

WASHINGTON - Moments before a top Microsoft executive told Congress about efforts to improve security, the company warned on Wednesday of new flaws that leave its flagship Windows software vulnerable to Internet attacks similar to the Blaster virus that infected hundreds of millions of computers last month.

Microsoft urged customers to immediately apply a free repairing patch from its Web site, www.microsoft.com .........More

From Microsoft Site : What You Should Know About Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-039 (824146)
Security Update for Microsoft Windows

As said soon as I have the links for the patches I'll edit and post them........

It is known to affect these systems (NT again)

Windows NT® 4.0
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows Server™ 2003

More as I have it.....

This might be useful, for those of you who want to keep a bootable Windows 2000 installation CD handy, and have it updated with all the latest service packs and patches:
