songs being rated after library scan

Hello,

I was fixing some ID3s and after some library rescans I noticed tons of songs were rated without my consent.

What is going on? Now I lost all my genuine ratings since I can't undo the ratings I didn't do.

Are ratings saved in the info tag now? Please help...

Thanks.

did u recently update winamp?

ratings CAN be saved in the files tag, and newer winamps will use that info over what ratings were in the winamp DB.

its too late for you most likely, but the way to have "fixed" this would have been to update winamp, turn on the write ratings to file feature, reapply your "db" ratings to file to overwrite any differing ratings in them, and then rescan.
