How to record a dual winamp mix?

Hi,

I've developed a harmonic beatmixing autoDJ as part of a greater application in VB6.0. It uses two instances of Winamp to provide nice long mixed crossfades. The 24/7 PC I use is a Shuttle SN45G set for 4 speakers. What I notice is that the rear speakers output DirectSound and don't output Wav sound - which is exactly what I don't want to record; - just the overall mixed MP3 DirectSound output. The Wav sound is playing TTS output from the web-reader part of my application. Why I want to record the mixed MP3 output is because my car has one of those USB-MP3 players, but it can only hold 999 tracks. Therefore I'm hoping to record up to 999 hour-long mixes. So I can have a decent amount of mixed-sound in my car, I want to be continually recording output to a series of large MP3 files.

I want to control the recording from my VB6.0 application.

What is the best way for me to proceed with this project?

I think I need to capture the DirectSound mix but even though my software is fully loaded with DirectSound auto-accompaniment features, I don't know what to do to capture the overall sound coming from the rears speakers?

Thanks.
