I was missing read_file.dll :-/
the mod doesn't seem to be compressed. why do I need read_file.dll to play it back? can you make an error message that tells you that it is missing?

while hunting for the error I noticed that if you install mikamp on a winamp without any in_mod settings it uses 24 bit output by default. this should be 16 bit because many soundcards don't support 24 bit output or support it crappily (some creative cards iirc).

blah, I've messed up the code, so I didn't work without read_file at all (haven't you noticed that ). fixed now.

I'm hearing Skaven(FutureCrew) mods and I find some .IT's with problems with Winamp module plugin

Razorback
http://www.futurecrew.com/skaven/song_files/razorbck.it

Some samples doesn't sound.

Quality Time - Big Money Mix
http://www.futurecrew.com/skaven/son...ualityt_bmm.it

Mute O_o

Seven Seas
http://www.futurecrew.com/skaven/son.../seven_seas.it

Mute O_o

Fourth Symmetriad
http://www.futurecrew.com/skaven/song_files/4thsym.it

A lot of samples doesn't sound.

On my old ModPlug all sound ok.

I have tested it with Winamp 2.81 and NullSoft Module decoder v2.2.10 beta7 and v2.2.10 beta14.

Thanks for your work

well... try it with this one (2.2.10 beta 28):
http://x-fixer.narod*****download/in_mod.zip

I'll test them myself anyway.
(I have ModPlug 1.46 for comparision)

<edit>
As for Razorback, I know it by heart.
Unreal Tournament rules.
This is the older, nonmixed version.

All mods play well and very similar as in ModPlug!!!!
(Of course with new version of the plugin)

ModPlug has errors in NNAs playing
'Fourth Symmetriad'
</edit>

XFixer: Could you also add some VERY advanced
options to control FIR resampling? (cutoff etc.)
Or maybe even SSRC? (It's LGPL, you can link it
with in_mod without releasing sources)

Yes, with v2.2.10 beta 28 it sounds

But when I double-click on a mod in Playlist window the title of the mod changes to [SYNTAX ERROR IN FORMATTING STRING]

Update: Ok, i has only "%title" on General tab / Title Formatting.

I pressed default button and I remove all taking only %title%

Thanks for answer

It doesn't hurt to RTFM (README)
before/after/when installing.
(strike unnecesary )

Nope. Check the 'Continue after loop' option in prefs.

so, everything is ok with beta28? great.

I've just integrated some code by peter. most notably the solution to SYNTAX ERROR problems (in peter's style, of course ) - store new formatting string in another variable, so that older one is ignored

and what's the problem with razorblack? (I've dumped most Skavens modules into a 4MB rar archive on wednesday, it's on my site now, but I have not uploaded it from here yet)

I have tested wich "Continue Playing after loop' enabled and disabled.

Razorblack has 4 minutes, WinAmp detects 4.55, so the 55 segs remaining sounds bad.

Well, it seems that Winamp doesn't ignore
data after EOF (End of file) mark,
so it plays them.
(1 additional pattern )
My guess can be wrong, though...

yes, in_mod currently ignores EOF. I like this feature, because I like to listen to "hidden" parts (and they sound ok in most songs). but since to many people think that it's a bug, I've finally made it optional (in the current internal build).

No, XFixer, don't do that,
cause most songs with something hidden
don't use eof to separate parts,
only loops. I'd like to enable 'end on eof' with 'continue after loop'.
Or enable it without the other one.

Is X-Fixer still working on module decoder?
Or he has moved to foobar2000 forum (like most of us)?

I should just shut up :P

@XFixer: Could you revert changes made to INFINITY.s3m? Playback in foobar and older in_mod was correct.
(verified with IT 2.16)

eh? you mean it was better when it played only 3 channels instead of 9? although these channels are marked as muted many players (*cough* modplug) ignore it. and the song sounds better with 9 channels imho.

X-Fixer, what about this thing http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....&pagenumber=10 - read it or?
Also, can you at least label this thing as RC1? - it is quite release-ready.

This file sounded like crap in winamp compared to modplug.

IT format MP3 Format (from MODPLUG)
Other files are sounding better than this one, but sometimes a little bit different to modplug but it's not as major as this file.

Mat

[EDIT: Fixed space in filename... + downloading new in_mod from a russian website posted earlier WOOHOO downloading at 485 BYTES /sec on cable!! about 2m30s for a 76kb file!]
Edit2: File download ended, the file sounds the same :S

Merged part:
Damn, it was case-sensitivite:
