increase the Sound on Sc_trans Auto Dj

Dear Shoutcast Team, users

i am useing the sc_trans auto dj to stream over the night.
my problem is: that the streaming sound is low... in compared to when we stream live.
is it possible to increase the sound on sc_trans with any setting or is there any plug in for this?
like EQ setting for Sc_trans

would be great
then we could se6t up the sound quality like on the sam broadcaster

i thank you

sc_trans development has been stopped, so the only way (which probably won't work) is to try messing around with the replaygain settings (and / or adding replaygain values to the files) to see if that will help or not. otherwise there's nothing that can be done.

obvious solution: decrease the volume of your live stream

Is it just me or are shoutcast users getting dumber?

because it's not been publically updated in almost 3 years and it needs a mass of work to allow for it to be released under the new ownership which is just not deemed viable to do with all of the other products and projects in progress (and it was pretty obvious that sc_trans was never given the attention it deserved so it's been put out to pasture).

Which is truly a pity, as sc_trans is one of the most versatile and powerful tools out there if you're running a radio station.

I still have a beta version on my radio station which has an uptime of 2 years and counting..

well you can thank the mess that is licensing for the cause of it and like noted above, we've got a load of other things which need to be worked on before even contemplating trying to update sc_trans. as currently it cannot be used due to licensing issues with the MP3 and AAC encoding and decoding libraries present in it i.e. the fundamental core of sc_trans cannot be used without our re-implementing the whole of that. and with the other issues sc_trans has, it's just viable to be looked at, hence it's removal.

Oh no, I do understand why it was removed. Still a pity.

Could an external library for encoding/decoding have been used? (such as LAME)

yes (and requiring people to obtain lame themselves) but it would still require changing the sc_trans core to achieve functionality with it instead of what is already in place.

i use a perl script and ffmpeg that can do this no prob..

and it is a bit of a shame about trans, it was headed in the right direction less all that licensing nosense...

if it were able to relay another stream just as an http://iport line in the playlist file that would be pretty handy.. which is why i went with ffmpeg.. your media can be just about anywhere, and in just about any format...

playlists can look like this

/local/path/to/anymedia.format
http://iport #shoutcast or icecast
http://domain.com/direct/url/to/anymedia.format

etc, etc

doesn't really matter now what it could / should have done as it's gone.
