Help Needed Desperately

Ok, well by the guidance of many of my forum mates I installed the Shoutcast Server + The Winamp Plugin. I configured everything the way they should be. Passwords match in the Config. File and in the Plugin, ports are consistant. Yet when I try and 'connect' it goes Connecting, Disconnected. I've been on this for an hour and it is really aggravating. I had one of my mates who got it to work send me screen shots of his config and it still will not work.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times, with the GUI and console versions. Firewall was disabled.

Help.

Sorry if this question is awkward, or old. I'm a forum veteran but not quite sure how things work around here.

Cheers.

You have the server going, now give it a source (Winamp/DSp combo).

Check out the Sticky post titled...

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled...

If the server and the DPS are on the same system connect to 127.0.0.1 and port 8000

IP = localhost
port = 8000

if you are truely not messing up somewhere, you have loopback connections disabled somehow (most likely a firewall). to test this, try having someone else connect to your DNAS using your actual IP (instead of localhost).

leave your DNAS running and post the IP.
