WTF? Another station being played on my stream

This morning when I woke up and tuned into my station via iTunes I almost spit coffee out of my mouth. The music I was hearing was some terrible electro club music and not my deep house lounge station.

I have a feeling its an iTunes issue, there is no other explanation.

If you search in the internet radio section and find "DEEP HOUSE LOUNGE" youll find my station. Give it a listen and compare the stream title with what is currently playing on my stream. You can see whats currently playing if you go here www.deephouselounge.com

if you play it via itunes and its the same as whats playing on my website try to refresh iTunes a few times..

I hope someone else experiences this so I know I am not crazy. But at the same time I hope no one experiences this because if they do that means people are not getting my stream via iTunes.

the incorrect stream in the listing is a 1.x DNAS so this is the long-standing 1.x DNAS clustering issue that you're experiencing. i can try to force remove it but as it's now happened for your stream, it generally tends to be that the issue will come back whilst you're still using any 1.x DNAS for the stream. and in your case, it doesn't show as a different name in the tune-in playlist since you've got a 1.x and 2.x mix which means the authhash details from the 2.x DNAS are being used to control the naming of the 1.x DNAS.

Whoa really? I shouldn't have ANY 1.x connected to my stream.

I am only using 2.x now.

Can you please remove any 1.x associated with my stream!?

**EDIT**

Holy crap I know what 1.x you are talking about. Its an old relay that should have been shut down a long time ago. I cant believe that streaming service still has it up, especially since I am not paying for it anymore.

I still have access to the cpanel and WHMsonic. If I shut down that relay should it resolve this issue?

it's better if you set that DNAS to private (is the DNAS running on port 8044 from the tune-in playlist). once done i can then go in and make the changes to remove the incorrect listing and force it to be seen as a 2.x only listing.

This is what my playlist shout have

[playlist]
NumberOfEntries=4
File1=http://198.15.94.34:8006/stream
Title1=DEEP HOUSE LOUNGE - [www.deephouselounge.com]
Length1=-1

File1=http://198.15.94.34:8024/stream
Title1=DEEP HOUSE LOUNGE - [www.deephouselounge.com]
Length1=-1

File1=http://198.15.94.34:8030/stream
Title1=DEEP HOUSE LOUNGE - [www.deephouselounge.com]
Length1=-1

File1=http://198.15.94.34:8036/stream
Title1=DEEP HOUSE LOUNGE - [www.deephouselounge.com]
Length1=-1
Version=2

The 8044 is the 1.x relay that I had no idea was still active. I can shut it down since I still have access to the backend of WHMsonic. Would that resolve this issue?

this is the playlist i'm referring to and it shows the incorrect one and also your 1.x DNAS which leaves 3 from your 4 above. for the 4th Icecast based listing, you can also have that listed if wanted, see http://wiki.shoutcast.com/wiki/SHOUT...Icecast_Server (though i'd need to manually merge it to the existing listing but as it's treated like a 1.x DNAS listing, it might cause the issue to return).

so yes, if the 1.x relay is disabled / set to private then that should resolve the issue once i've made the changes i need to make.

DrO.

There is one thing I am not clear on. Which stream do I make private for you to do these changes? My main stream?

yea..

http://148.251.14.220:9996

and

http://198.100.148.141:8044

Does NOT belong in there.

No need to add the icecast if its going to fuck things up

i assume you stopped it normally as i didn't see a remove request come through from it.

i've made the changes needed to the listing, will now see what happens over the next few update cycles...

and using 2.2.1 still... ?

it seems to be holding ok now, will have to keep an eye over the next few hours just in-case (which is the time scale previously seen if a listing is going to revert to a messed-up state).

i won't judge you, you just like the AOL versions too much
