ah, yes. I love answers that so perfectly answer the question, yet are so insanely vague it's completely meaningless. I'm not complaining... just as long as it comes out soon I'll be happy

heh, yeah... when they first announced sonique2 the dev demo was scheduled for December 2000, and Sonique2 for early on in 2001 ... hehe... yeah right.

Speaking of which... maybe now that Nullsoft found out that Sonique has been severely crippled they have all gone on vacation That's what happens when you loose competition... next thing you know WA3 will have built in ads...kinda like ICQ and AIM

What I think is funny is that after every alpha release at least two people start a new thread asking when the next alpha'll be released. Lord knows I'm anticipating its release, but noone, probably even the dev team, knows when it'll be released.

I'm not just trying to be a jackass about the new thread posting, but look at the release dates of the previous alphas: 05/21/2001, 04/20/2001, 03/16/2001.... Seems like there might be a pattern here.

There is a funny thing i read here and i agree with phizzure. Each time an alpha version is realeased, some ask for a BETA... Strange thing... Do you guys forget that there could be an Alpha 8, Alpha 9, ... and some other versions before the Beta.. So let's wait.

WA3 release date is like all PC Games, when it's done. And when the hell is Napster going to come out of Beta, it's on 10.3 now. AmpliDex if you are all "Go Netscape!" WTF do you have a hotmail email address?

You can remove the ads from AIM all you have to do is register. J/K. Either use AIMazing or you edit two of the files and no more ads! Sorry I forget which ones. a-arse it's suppose to be a gif, I don't know how got turned into a bmp.

Napster won't be out be out of beta until they get all the filters in place to implement their monthly fees. Litigation is probably the only reason it is still labeled beta. For all I care, winamp3 can be labeled Alpha forever. It's my main player right now anyways. The only things I find missing are the ability to associate files and some of the unimplemented playlist features, such as folders and multiple playlists. It's already as stable as sonique v1.9, and is the unix to musicmatch and realplayer's windows95.

after much time deliberating, i must say napster is now the suckiest peice of software ever, i won't say my main choice of software for downloading music for the fear it may go the same way as everything else or AOL try and take it over (shivers and growls, what an evil idea). but its excellent.

for now it looks like Audiogalaxy is pretty decent: I've found most of the songs that I've wanted to preview there. But it doesn't really matter: they might have killed Napster, they might kill Audiogalaxy, but the concept will never die. As powerfull as Microsoft is, it'll always be hackable, there will always be a way around . At least I hope so... otherwise it's time to move on to Linux.

To the people asking about their providers sucking. Someone already explained that it is a PHP sig that changes to match your provider, although it just says "I like fish" for me. Must be my supercool firewall.

it's a script that'll take your providers name and add "really sucks" to it.

Wont be any cool if your ip doesn't resolve, so I guess it just says the fish thingey if you dont have a resolvable ip.

Surely a (personal) firewall wouldn't stop the script, if it's looking at your IP that's been provided from the ISP?!?

He uses statistics like a drunk uses lamp-posts: for support, not illumination.

Guess this .... person .... doesn't realize that usually alphas for most software aren't even released to the public. We should be grateful that we have the chance to try them out, and shouldn't complain about how infrequent they arrive. People don't realize what they actually have until its gone.

And On that day, the Lords of the land said unto their Master Architect, "The temple you have made to the gods of Wasabi and Maki has brought us no great prosperity" and they sent out him into the lands.

As he traveled to a far off land, he found he wasn't traveling alone, but that he had gained companions, and when they found their new land, they started work on a new temple, one that would be OPEN to all who wanted to worship.

Even though the final version of Winamp3 won't be released for a while, it's great that they release Alpha's to the public ever once in a while
