Through the eyes of a kid

Today as I was going in town my dad pointed to a shop that was recently broke and reminded me that when i was small and he said that shops had "gone under" I literally thought that they had gone beneath the ground! Also my brither has this draw in his cupboard that wouldn't open and he convinced me it let to another world!

So c'mon people, what funny things did you think about the world or what things did people trick you into beleiving??

My older brother and I shared a bunk together. I remember one night when he passed some gas and it really stank BAD! He convinced me that we must have had a skunk in our bedroom. Since, I didn't hear him fart, I believed him and went lookin for it all over our room. I finally got the joke when he couldn't hold the giggles in any longer. But he really stank like a skunk!

i was convinced that a ghost lived in the huge walk-in cupboard in my room that the whole family used for storage
i wouldn't be able to sleep unless there was something, usually a chair, in front of the door

i also saw terminator 2 at a very young age, and was convinced taht it was real and that the events in it really were going to happen

When I was very young, I tried the "I can't see you, so you can't see me thing." When I would get in trouble, I would cover my eyes, convinced that they couldn't see me anymore.

I was told that yogurt was made of bird shit.

Interestingly, I see a parallel between that and Bilbo's statement months and months ago, and I quote:

LOL

I used to think that Ive you could remove all the mass of a space craft using some sort of device that you could then break the light barier. there is just one prob without some sort of stabilisation efect in the craft youed be a nice stain on the back wall. I'm still working on the phisics of that one.

That film fucked with my head. I had dreams about violent wars, random killing sprees and shit. I watched it at a mate's house when I was 9. Nine, for fuck's sake. How responsible were his parents?
Hell, I bought back my PSX (having sold it a year earlier) solely to go on random killing sprees in GTA2 (which I had played at a mate's house). Then I bought a PS2 last year almost solely for GTA3, same reason. I don't have the dreams so much any more, but there are some experiences I'd rather not live through again.

I'm still fascinated by guns.

It's probably unrelated, but I also suffer from violent mood swings every couple of days. I go from calm, considerate Mr. Nice Guy to Irrational, aggressive, violent shithead. It pisses me off just thinking about it.

How bazarre...me too.
In the beginning I had no control over my flights.
But later on...years later...I could control what I did.
I could run and take off whenever I wanted,
fly as high or low as I wanted, control my direction,
and then land down lightly on my feet whenever and whereever I wanted.
This was when I was a kid.
I'd love to do that again.

btw...I was always led to believe there was a tooth fairy.
Whenever I lost a tooth, I'd put it under my pillow at night.
When I woke up the next morning there'd be a dollar there
and the tooth was gone.
The tooth fairy came while I was asleep.

Similar to above bridge post:

When I was young my parents took us on a walk over the the Brooklyn Bridge (we lived in New York City). The whole way there I was scared to death because I thought we had to climb or balance on the cables.

Also i had this dream many times from around the age of 6:
I dreamt i was flying and when i flapped my wings i could fly really high and i would amaze my friends!

i actually realized about a half hour ago that i still hold some of those misconceptions

i was talking to someone on the phone, we were discussing bald animals, and i said that they were funny, especially bald eagles
i had no idea that they weren't really bald
up until now i've alwyas just pictured a bald eagle as like sam, the muppet
i'd have the image of a normal eagle, except that it would have no feathers on the top of it's head
